I made the first of these to replace a plastic washing basket that had disintegrated. They have also been used as toy baskets, blanket storage and a cat bed! They are made using very strong and sustainable birch plywood and reclaimed pitch pine (from panelling in the old school where we live). Joints are reinforced using small copper nails. They are finished with two coats of osmo polyX oil and stand up very well to damp washing and everyday use.
