We've been trying to make our kitchen a bit more user friendly. This little unit is made from cherry and oak, the drawers are for cutlery and the shelf for plates and bowls. The worktop is narrow but feels like a good place to chop with lots of light.  Large cupboard painted pine doors with cherry top frame and handles.
